Birdcage birthday card

This is a card that I made for a good friends birthday and I have to say that I think it's one of the best cards that I've made for a long time.

I started my covering the background in milled lavender distress in and then stamped the background in another shade of purple. I did the same with the birdcage topper, mounted them both onto some silver mirri card and attached it to a 5'x5' card blank. The brads, flower and the raffia ribbon are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the spray was from my crafty stash and the hat pin was handmade by my sister.

Fingers crossed my friend likes it.

  1. It's perfect. Did you ink the edges of the flower too - or is that the sort of happy coincidence that I'm saving loads of stash for and never has yet happened?!!

  2. Hi, Thanks for the lovely comment. Yes I did ink the edges of the flower. I tend to keep a load of cream flowers in my stash and then ink the edges to match the colour of whatever project I'm working on
